Windows 10 Choose your app mode theme – A registry key AppsUseLightTheme

If you are wondering how set up a dark theme in W10 1703 by a Windows registry manipulation, you have same problem like I had.

After some digging in registry, I found AppsUseLightTheme in

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\Personalize]

You can easily deduce that:

• 0 – a dark theme is used
• 1 – a light theme is used (Windows default setting)

You can manipulate with the registry key directly or use *.reg file to an automatic change the setting.
